Quietside Cafe and Ice Cream Shop in Mount Desert Island

The BEST apple pie I've had...maybe ever! The blueberry ice cream was delicious as well! Definitely a hidden gym!

My family was not a fan of this place. To start off, the food was atrocious, as my lobster stew was just milk with overcooked lobster meat, my husband and daughter ordered a clam chowder which was mostly composed of potatoes and no clams. Lastly, my son ordered an Italian sandwich that was just a chef salad on top of a soggy bun (see below). The manager there was also very rude to my son. She yelled at him twice. This was definitely an underperforming restaurant and I hope the next people that go there have a better experience than my family.

This was a great find. We didn’t even know what this place was until we walked in saw the ice cream, pies, cookies and other sweets. Make no mistake, they offer “real food” as well, but we ate at Acadia Jordan Pond House an hour earlier. ...We met the owner - a lovely fun lady from Ghana, who set us right there at the bar you see on the photo. We felt right at home. See if you feel the same way about this place when you visit Acadia National park on your next trip.

Really tasty, and good service. The blueberry pomegranate sorbet was great, and so was the southern peach!

Cute little place, crowded (you know it's good when there are people around). Outdoor picnic tables available, one is located right next to the window where the fresh made blueberry pies are cooling on racks. Made us salivate. Great pizzas too!

Quietside is my happy place. Whether I'm hungry for their awesome pizza, craving a lobster roll, or dreaming of a new entree to try, Quietside is my destination. While we love dining in, we've been so happy to take out during quarantine. Quietside is also our go-to place for ice cream, pies and cookies. We highly recommend Quietside Cafe & Ice Cream Shop!

We had hiked all day and were looking for something to eat that wasn’t too busy and not gonna break the bank. When we found this place I looked at my wife and we shrugged and decided to give it a try. I’m glad we did. She got the Pulled pork and I got a burger. Both portions were huge! We didn’t try the ice cream because we were too full but hope to next time we are in the Area.

It was ok, while my daughter and I were finishing our ice cream, my son was building a small tower with the creamers, not being destructive, just creative. We were laughing and my husband and I were encouraging his creativity, we weren't even being loud. But a lady came out and loud enough for every one in the shop to hear, reprimanded my son and I for playing with the food, and let us know we were not to do that. I get it if we were being destructive or loud, but it really embarrassed my son. She chose to humiliate and we will choose to go to any other shop but this one from here on out. It just wasn't done gracefully. And for heaven sake, if you don't want the condiments touched, take them off the table.

The place is small but always packed so what does that tell you? The food is delicious! The ice cream and desserts were amazing! The staff extremely friendly and happy! A great place to eat ! A great place for dessert. The prices are very fair. A must stop in for all in Southwest Harbor,Maine.

Small storefront cafe. Order inside, sit outside on picnic tables. Very good sandwiches and such. Pleasant service. We have come here before and choose this over other choices in Southwest Harbor.

Our waitress was SUPER friendly. We found our new favorite ice cream flavor. I recommend the toasted coconut flavor. So good! The cookies were really good and HUGE!! Definitely try this place out!!

Pie is too die for. I went there 2 days in a row because of the apple pie. They also have reasonably priced kids food! And the staff is super sweet and quick.

The food was so good and the staff was very nice. Plus a great outdoors area to sit and enjoy the downtown with our pups! Loved it.

Blueberry pie right out of the oven has no comparison. I had to go back within 30 minutes to get another slice of heaven!!

BLUE F'n BERRY PIE!!!!.....the owner was nice enough to sell us one and we took it home to PA. I wasn't sure he would because we didn't order one ahead of time> Thank god we asked and he sold us one - it's been spectacular. It must've weighed 5 lbs!! It was $27 so get past the sticker shock if you think that's too much but it was loaded with 'blues' and the crust was excellent. I cut a sliver for lunch today and it held up nicely. Really loving it.

Nice little place, gets crowded really fast. Although the customer service could get faster, if they had indicated that there are two counters, one for ice-cream and remaining at the other, was told. There was only one line at the door, and we had to wait, for some time and then we were then told, if we are not ordering ice-cream, it's a another counter. Otherwise, food was good, the apple pie was great with a huge crust, The slice of the pie is kinda huge, and can be shared by two easily along with coffee.

By far the best apple pie of my life. Raw oats, caramelized topping, and brown sugar throughout will have you wanting to take a slice home on the airplane. I got it warmed with a scoop of vanilla for the full experience.

I just had my lobster roll here and it's tastier than the lobster pound down the street! If you prefer your lobster roll with mayonnaise, this is the place to get it plus you get a thing of chips and coleslaw with your roll! It's a great deal and plus you can salivate at the ice cream flavors while you wait ;)

Very disappointed this year with Quietside cafe and will not return. A few nights ago, my husband and I attempted to have dinner there, but left after being ignored and not helped to find a seat. This evening I wanted to treat my husband to a nice piece of blueberry pie, so decided to stop in..We ordered one slice of pie and one very large cookie. We were aghast when we were charged $11.02!We left in disbelief...but returned after looking in the container to see a very small piece of pie. We inquired about the price to be sure it wasn't a mistake. The gentleman told us the pie was $6.25 and the cookie was 3:95!!!Ouch!😖🤯🤪Then tax to top it off!!!!The cost certainly takes the enjoyment of eating these terribly outrageously priced treats.Guess we learned to always ask the price before buying!

My favorite restaurant in Maine. Great atmosphere and pizza. Located on the best part of the island

It was a fun experience, Mrs. Francis engaged with everyone that came in and she was pretty funny. It is a small little shop with enough seating for 6 tables but nothing else. We had a giant cookie, two slices of blueberry pie and a slice of apple pie(Ala mode of course). It was expensive, but really what isn't expensive on the island. Worth your time.

This place is awesome. Easily the best blueberry pie I ate in my ten days in Maine. But somehow, even better than that was the key lime pie. Not too tart and that crust was out of this world. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. The owner came out from the kitchen and asked how things were. It's everything you want in a quaint little Maine town restaurant.

Kind of small place...nice owner....yummy Maine wild blueberry pie which is why I came. Seafood pizza yummy also. Would come again whenever I visit.

Flat out some of the best pizza we ever had. (Coming from a New Yorker that’s a compliment). Super friendly staff and anything you want on the menu. Baked goods are pristine too!

Stopped in with my husband for an ice cream on our last night on the island. Their sign said they closed at 8pm. It was 830 and a lovely owner and a server both welcomed us as well as many others behind us. Lovely place with a warm welcome. Would go back to eat lunch or dinner or dessert anytime. Prices well within reason for island life. Thanks for keeping your doors open late.

One of the few good meals we had on MDI this week. No hype, just good food. Seafood pizza was awesome. I finished off dinner with a delicious chocolate chip cookie topped with hand dipped ice cream.

Good ice cream, attentive staff. We rode our bikes over from our campground for dessert and were not disappointed. I had a coconut chocolate chip macaroon with a scoop of Wicked Good Chocolate ice cream. My partner had a Moose Tracks sundae on a gigantic chocolate chip cookie. Bring cash! It is not "cash only" but signs say they prefer you to pay with cash to keep costs down.Some cons: steps up to get into the restaurant (not for wheelchair or walker users). It was a very crowded dining area even with the restaurant only half full. (There's a counter and small tables; you likely would not be able to eat with a group bigger than 4.)
